The BJP cannot abolish the Congress but BJP always wins in every state where Rahul Gandhi visited for election campaign, Manipur BJP general secretary K Saratkumar on Thursday said.
Saratkumar was speaking in a press conference at its state party head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal West. At present, the Congress has 50 seats in Parliament of the total MP seat of 543, he added.
Concerning the announcement that the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will be leading a so-called, ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur and Indian National Congress National President Malikarjun Kharge will be flagging it off, he questioned, “At the prevailing situation of Manipur, how Malikarjun Kharge will rally the yatra and on which route the yatra will be heading?”
The state government recently made an announcement that the national highways of Manipur will be opened and Manipur State Transport buses will be resumed from Imphal to Kangpokpi district and Imphal to Churachandpur, he recalled.
However, both the buses were not able to reach their destinations as the buses were blocked by agitators at Kangpokpi district and the other bus heading for Churachandpur was returned without reaching its destination, he added.
Saratkumar further said during the period of Indian National Congress, they made history for various scams including helicopter scam, coal scam and others. However, during the BJP government, Manipur was honored by renaming Mt Harriet into Mt Manipur and naming an Indian Naval Ship as ‘Imphal’. Moreover, the BJP government implemented the inner line permit in Manipur and all the government beneficiaries were benefited with direct transfer benefit, he added.
Meanwhile, state BJP strongly condemned the allegations made by congress MLA Th Lokeshwar that BJP is trying to kill the ethnic communities of Manipur. Saratkumar said the allegation is baseless and BJP never instigated any community to create enmity among each other.
He said the present crisis is instigated by illegal immigrants from Myanmar.
