In promotion of Bharat Jodo Nyay yatra which is set to be launched from Imphal on January 14, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) launched a sticker campaign of the journey at the state Congress head office, BT Road, Imphal on Sunday.
Earlier on Saturday, the sticker campaign was launched at national level by Indian National Congress president Malikarjun Kharge.
On the occasion, Congress Legislative Party leader Okram Ibobi said that people across the nation can witness the complete breakdown of constitutional machineries and failure of law and order situation in Manipur under the BJP-led government.
Even the Supreme Court of India has already announced that the law and order situation in Manipur has failed after the May 3 crisis which continues till date, he said.
“Under the BJP-led Manipur government, the people are not getting justice, no peace, violation of democracy and others. To deliver justice not just for the people of Manipur but across the nation from the atrocities of the Modi-led BJP government, the central working committee of INC decided to launch the yatra from Manipur,” he announced.
As a part of Bharat Jodo Yatra, a convoy of Rahul Gandhi tried to reach Churachandpur by-road; however, the convoy was not allowed to continue its journey by-road, he said. The journey was done with helicopter transport, said CLP leader.
In the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, to be led by Rahul Gandhi, the convoy will pass through Kangpokpi district, other north eastern states and will end at Mumbai, he added.
Earlier, the convoy of Rahul Gandhi during Bharat Jodo Yatra was not allowed to go by-road in Manipur after considering the prevailing law and order situation and the communal tensions that had been in the state since May 3, 2023.
