‘Barish Sharma must apologise’

A protestor alleged that Barish Sharma and his goons ordered the dismantling of polling booths of other candidates except the BJP’s.

Following the short stint of former BJYM president Manoharmayum Barish Sharma at polling station 14/16 in Lizard club, Wangkhei, several women on Saturday staged a sit-in at Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak demanding that Barish apologise.

The protestors decried Barish’s rude tactics to threaten and intimidate the locals during the election and warned to commence agitations if Barish failed to publicly apologise soon.

It may be mentioned that a video footage of the entire incident had also surfaced online which caused massive outrage among netizens as well.

Placards demanding Barish to publicly apologize and stop gun culture were raised during the protest.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the protest, a protestor alleged that Barish and his goons ordered the dismantling of polling booths of other candidates except the BJP’s.

“We condemn such hostile actions which put the lives of everyone at risk and demand Barish to apologize publicly,” she said.
