Awareness programme on Thang-Ta held

Thang-Ta for an ethical way of living: Awareness programme held as a part of a month-long observance ceremony of Thang-Ta Day which was kicked off on October 15.

An awareness programme on Thang-Ta was held on Tuesday at Eternal Spring English School Sekta under Lamlai assembly constituency, as a part of one month-long observance ceremony of Thang-Ta Day which was kicked off on October 15.

The observance ceremony was organised by Thang-Ta Observation Committee of Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Culture Society (KIMACS) under the theme ‘Thang-Ta for an ethical way of living’.

Eternal Spring English School, principal Laishram Raghumani, who attended the function as a presidium member, said that the morals of the present youth are degrading with the gradual loss of cultural and traditional value. Therefore, it is high time for the youth to learn about their rich cultural heritage, he mentioned.

He stressed that education is not just about learning academic syllabus. Moral value, discipline and life skills are a few things that one should not neglect while shaping their career, he added.

The programme was also attended by KIMACS advisor Maibam Surjaboro Meitei and Thang-Ta Observation Committee, convenor Ningthoujam Ajitkumar Mangang
