Tamenglong District Police, in collaboration with the Juvenile Justice Board Tamenglong, organised a legal awareness campaign to educate students about the dangers of smoking, alcohol and drug abuse at Trinity Public School, Tamenglong.
The programme aimed to empower students with knowledge, promoting a healthier and more responsible future generation, stated a release.
During the programme, member of the Juvenile Justice Board Tamenglong, Daniel P Kamsuan, highlighted the devastating consequences of substance abuse, it stated.
He shared alarming statistics from around the world, stressing the need to make informed choices, it said. He encouraged the students to become role models for future generations, urging them to prioritise their education and well-being, it mentioned.
A question-and-answer session was also held as part of the event to facilitate the students to engage with the resource persons, it stated.
Taking part in the event, OC of Tamenglong Women Police Station, WSI Karaila and Sub-inspector Gaidanlung Ngaomei also encouraged the students to focus on their studies to achieve their goals, it noted.
The event concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, led by Kamsuan, with sudents vowing to refrain from harmful substances and make healthy lifestyle choices, it added.
