The NH 37 Commercial Transports Drivers Welfare Association on Thursday announced that it will set up toll booths at three locations specifically for the welfare of the drivers and passengers plying along NH 37.
The association said that the resolution has been in their efforts to address certain grievances and appealed to extend support and cooperation, stated a release.
While acknowledging the sacrifice of the drivers especially during this difficult time, the entire populace of the state must be respected and facilitated, it stated.
Despite regular toll tax being collected along the NH 37 by All Manipur Transport Association/Union, Drivers Association/Union, it completely failed to understand the needs to cater and address the welfare and grievances of the drivers and passengers at this most challenging time in the state, it added.
The welfare and safety of the drivers and passengers traveling along National Highway 37 has become a major concern, it mentioned.
There have been several reports of grievances that require immediate attention from the commercial goods laden trucks and passengers carrying vehicles, it added.
