The All Mayai Lambi Transporters' Association (AMLTA) on Monday threatened to stop all Magic and auto passenger services along Mayai Lambi, Imphal West from September 21, if the bus parking slot of Wabagai Bus (MI Transport) is not shifted back to Wahengbam Leikai, Leirembi Mamang by September 20.

AMLTA president Th Premchandra told the media at Manipur Press Club, Imphal that the parking space of the buses were shifted to Waheng Leikai Crematorium from Leirembi Mamang in June, causing  internal conflicts with the auto and Magic transporters.

He elaborated that the parking of buses at an area located ahead of auto and Magic parking space has caused confusion among the passengers who are commuting along Mayai Lamb. The passenger strength of the auto and Magic services have also been reduced as well, he added.

The meagre earnings made by the owners and drivers of auto and Magic passenger drivers are the sole source of income for their families, he said. Due to the unauthorised parking of the buses, they are not in a position to pay loans and are struggling to make ends meet.

The matter has been raised to the authority concerned including the director of Transport and ministers concerned; however, they have not taken up any positive steps till date, he said.

The president further drew attention of the chief minister for taking up necessary steps for parking of buses, auto and magic passenger services at their respective parking slots to prevent any inconveniences in future and for the survival of the auto and Magic owners and the drivers.
