The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a Mega Medical Camp at Churachandpur College on Friday.
The Mega Medical Camp was organised by Assam Rifles as a part of its unstinted efforts to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur State, the IGAR(S) stated in a release.
The camp was conducted in association with District Hospital, ECHS Polyclinic, Tunnu Nursing College and various Philanthropic Organisations.
The medical camp was an endeavour to reach out to the displaced populace residing in various Relief Camps with limited access to essential healthcare facilities during the ongoing crisis, the IGAR(S) said.
The medical staff of Assam Rifles Unit Hospital and a team of volunteer doctors, nurses and para medical staff from the medical fraternity of Churachandpur town examined a total of 582 people (Men - 127, Women - 258 & Children- 197) from various Relief Camps including senior citizens, pregnant women and children.
The conduct of this much needed medical camp for the patients facilitated consultation, medicines, laboratory services and awareness on prevention and control of seasonal illnesses and importance of maintaining personal hygiene and sanitisation, the IGAR(S) said.
