Shangshak Battalion Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), conducted a medical camp under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme at Makan Village of Kamjong district on Monday in relation to World Leprosy Eradication Day.
The medical camp was organised as the village does not have access to any medical facilities. As many as 254 villagers, including 73 men, 106 women and 75 children from Makan and nearby villages were examined and provided with basic medication. The initiative taken up by Assam rifles has solved the long pending need of medical assistance for the villagers.
