A five-day state-level training programme for educational survey, Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), 2022 started at DSSS, Mantripukhri, Imphal on Sunday. This year, ASER North East 2022 will also be published.
In a press release issued by ASER Associate, ASER Manipur, Keisham Kishan, it mentioned that the survey aims to understand whether children in rural India are enrolled in school and whether they are learning.
During the programme, Nine master trainers from across the districts of the State, based on the 2011 census, participated. The master trainer will further train other remaining 30-60 volunteers in their respective district to conduct household surveys and to assess children in the age group of 5-16 years of their foundation learning level- Basic Arithmetic, Reading and English reading.
It said the survey will be conducted in 30 villages in each district selected randomly in rural areas thereby visiting 20 households having children age group 3-16 in each village to collect sample data related to children education.
It further stated that the survey will be held all across the country from September to November by different master trainers of respective districts of other states also. The final report will be released in January 2023 and this year ASER North East 2022 will also be published.
The training programme was conducted by ASER Centre Team Manipur led by State Co-ordinator, ASER Manipur, Yambem Chingshang Singh and ASER Associate, ASER Manipur, Keisham Kishan Singh.
