All India Tanzeem-E-Insaaf (AITI), Manipur State Council, condemning the death of Md Sahir alias Sana, on Thursday urged the state government to book the culprits involved in the incident and award them befitting punishments.
AITI-MSC, in a release, expressed discontentment over the alleged failure of the police to lodge an FIR against the culprits as well as the government to initiate actions regarding the same till now. Sana succumbed to his injuries in a hospital after allegedly being assaulted by miscreants at Takhel on October 19, it stated.
It further condemned the atrocities meted out towards the Meitei-pangal drivers, most of whom are daily bread earners. They are making all-out efforts to transport essential commodities amidst the prevailing situation, it mentioned.
It reiterated its appeal to the state government to book the culprits involved in Md Sahir’s death and take legal necessary actions against them. It also extended solidarity to all the initiatives taken by the JAC. AITI-MSC also shared grief of the bereaved family members, it added.
