A combined team seized arms and ammunition from the Khujairok Turel area at adjoining places of Bishnupur and Churachandpur district under Loktak Police Station during a search operation on Tuesday.
Following a tip-off, a combined team of commando Bishnupur district along with 2 Columns of 5-Sikh Regiment led by major Vikash conducted search operation under the close supervision of Ksh Ravikumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur district and additional SP(Ops) Bishnupur Amarjit Singh Lamabam, stated a release.
Joint cordon and search operation was conducted by combined teams comprising District Police Bishnupur led by DSP(CDO-I), Bishnupur P Sanjoy Singh assisted by OC-CDO-BPR, Sub Y Shaktishen Singh, a team of Loktak-Police Station including 2 columns of 5- Sikh Regiment at Khujairok Turel area, adjoining place of Bishnupur and Churachandpur District under Loktak-PS jurisdiction, it stated.
During the said search, the joint team succeeded in seizing one SLR(Bearing no. BY 6977)with 1(one) Magazine, one Bolt action Rifle, one 9 mm empty magazine,one HE No. 36 Hand Grenade, one Chinese Hand Grenade, 13 .303 HD cartridges,four Grenade Arming Rings, five Tube launchers, one 2" Mortar shells, one 81 mm mortar shell, one RPG- shell, it mentioned.
The seized items were handed over to Loktak Police Station for further action, it added.
