Areas allotted for field firing practice

The field firing practice is authorised in the said areas for a further period of two years from January 31, 2024 to January 30, 2026.

The Manipur Home Department on Wednesday notified of the areas authorised for Field Firing practice in continuation of the Government notification dated February 17, 2022 and in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (2) of Section 9 of the Manoeuvres Field Firing and Artillery Act, 1938 (5 of 1938).

The notice issued by Joint Secretary (Home), Rehanuddin Choudhury in the name of the Governor, briefed on the areas stating that the boundary line of the field firing areas starts from the central portion Kaingam Village ( number 33) and goes North-Eastern direction towards Makhan village for 2.5 miles then it turns towards North-Western direction up to Khunu Khuman over range for 2.5 miles where it turns towards North-Western direction into Sanding Khuman Lock over Kounu Range for 3.5 mites.

It then turns South-East towards Laingannouga Khuman for 2.5 miles over Kounu Range and the line goes for 2.5 miles towards Eastern direction and meets the starting point at Kaingam village,it stated. The field firing practice is authorised in the said areas for a further period of two years from January 31, 2024 to January 30, 2026, it added.
