AR, villagers take up road repair work in Tamei sub-division

The Assam Rifles said many far flung villages both in Manipur and Nagaland are connected by the Tamei-Duikhuiram road.

Villagers and Assam Rifles personnel are making collective efforts to repair the the vital Tamei-Dikhuiram road, Tamei Sub Division in Tamenglong district of Manipur. The AR said many far flung villages both in Manipur and Nagaland are connected by this single road.

In absence of any government assistance to repair this depleted road connecting as many as 35 villages in hinterland, the villagers approached 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter 22 Sector Assam Rifles to repair this road and AR extended their support to repair the road, it said.
It stated that the work has started since October 12 and is expected to take a month to repair the 22 km stretch of the road.

Once repaired, the villagers will have access to better education, health, employment, government developmental schemes and markets for self reliance opportunities, it added.
