AR recovers four more explosive devices in Moreh

A team of 5th Assam Rifles battalion Headquarters had recovered two IEDs near Moreh bypass of T Yangnom village on Thursday at around 7.40 am.

A vigilant Assam Rifles patrol found Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Chikim Veng near ADC Complex, Moreh in Tengnoupal district on Saturday. 

Headquarters Inspector general Assam Rifles (South) in a release on Saturday stated that the discovery triggered an immediate action wherein the area was cordoned off, and an extensive search ensued with the assistance of an Explosive Detective Dog. The search resulted in recovery of four IEDs. All recovered items were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation, it added.

All recovered items were promptly handed over to the Moreh Police Station to facilitate further investigation. The incident is documented under FIR No 18 (1)2024 MRH-PS under Section 3/4 of the Explosive Substances Act.

It may be recalled that a team of 5th Assam Rifles battalion Headquarters recovered two IEDs near Moreh bypass of T Yangnom village on Thursday at around 7.40 am.

The recovered items are IEDs (Appro. 4.7 kg), 30 meter flexible wire (Yellow and Black), 38 meter flexible wire (Blue and white), 41 meter flexible wire (red and white), three meter flexible wire (green).
