One personnel of 36 AR posted at 36 AR Headquarters camp, Headquarter Veng, Churachandpur allegedly shot himself dead by using his service Rifle near 1st IRB Kote (Kote located inside 36AR Headquarters Camp) at 2.10 pm on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as one rifleman(GD) Gopal Biswakarma (G/3600928K), son of (Late) Purna Biswakarma of Rajabari village. PO-Rajabari, Police Station- Gohpur, Sonitpur district in Assam.
A UD Case no.05/CCP- PS/2024 U/S 174 CrPC has been registered at Churachandpur Police Station.
UKLF cadres apprehended
Two suspected cadres of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) were apprehended by a team of 36AR near Sangaikot Police Station in Churachandpur district around 12.15 am on Friday.
The duo were apprehended while conducting routine checks at said location. From their possession, a 9 mm Beretta pistol with magazine, five 9 live 9mm rounds, one Avenger motorcycle bike regd no. DL8SCD1693, a knife, and two mobile phones.
The apprehended persons are Tonghoukhup Baite, 27, resident of Langching village in Kakching district and Kamkholun Guite, 45, resident of Haipijang village in Churachandpur district.
