AR conducts wreath laying ceremony

The wreath laying ceremony was organised to commemorate the supreme sacrifice by Rifleman (Late) N B Chhetri in Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district of Manipur, a release stated.

Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis HQ IGAR (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the supreme sacrifice by Rifleman (Late) N B Chhetri in Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district of Manipur on Sunday, stated a release issued by IGAR (South).

It stated that the Battalion honoured the braveheart who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation on this day in 1963 at Dhansiri, Nagaland. All ranks of the Battalion paid their respect by laying wreaths and accorded their guard of honour, it added.

Meanwhile, the Modi Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Easter Sunday in Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts, Manipur on Sunday, it stated.

The troops of Modi Battalion participated wholeheartedly in the Easter celebrations organised at the Machi Baptist Church, Laiching Meipou Baptist Church, both in Tengnoupal District and at Little Angel's Paradise School, Chandel District to share the joy on the auspicious day, it mentioned.

Amid the celebration, events were organised by the villagers as well as troops of the Modi Battalion, followed by refreshments with the civil populace. A total of 380 people joined and participated in the celebrations, it added.
