AR conducts Civic Action Programme in Kangpokpi

Five Foot Sewing Machines were distributed to Khonglong Women Society (KWS) of Khonglong village in Kangpokpi District during the Civic Action Programme.

Noney Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a Civic Action Programme for the financial year 2022-23 where it distributed five Foot Sewing Machines to Khonglong Women Society (KWS) of Khonglong village in Kangpokpi District on November 27.

The event was organised to promote self-employment for women folks of the village under the Civic Action Project 2022-23.

It also aims to interact with women of all ages and spread awareness on education, personal hygiene, fundamental rights, self-dependency, employment, etc., while the effort was to educate women regarding their significance and contribution to the upliftment of society which will definitely help in changing the lives of remote villagers in Manipur and help the society in its sustainable collective development and improvement.

The Civic Action Programme was attended by women folks of the Khonglong Women Society, the youth of the village, Village Authorities, the Village Chairman, the Khonglong Students Organisation, etc.

The village authorities conveyed their regards to Assam Rifles for conducting such a beneficial program having an on-ground impact on the upliftment of society as a whole.
