The Department of Tribal Affairs & Hills, Manipur has invited online applications for availing Pre-Matric Scholarship (reading Classes-IX and X) and Post-Matric Scholarships from the desirous eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students of Manipur.
The notification issued by TA & Hills Director, Hannah Kamei, on December 11 informed that students belonging to Manipur whose parents’/guardians’ annual income does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh, pursuing their studies in the government/government recognised schools/institutions/universities in India for the academic session 2023-24 are eligible for application.
It notified the intending ST students to submit applications for the year 2023-24 on online mode only through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0) on the website ‘www.scholarships.gov.in’. The last date for online submission for pre-matric scholarship and post-matric scholarship applications is on January 30, 2024, it stated.
It advised all students desiring to avail Hosteller benefit under the scheme to go through the guidelines included in the Post Metric Scholarship Issued by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs while applying through NSP. Applications submitted without certification by the Head of Institutions as per the guidelines will be summarily rejected, it asserted.
It further informed all student applicants to use their unique mobile number, email ID, Login ID and unique password for submission of application over NSP and maintain proper records of such credentials for future reference. The notification is issued for general information and strict compliance by the respective institute heads as well as institute nodal officers, it added.
