The Unique Business Association (UBA) and Sulam Business Association (SBA) Chandel, Manipur on Friday appealed to the authorities concerned to transfer the present forest divisional officer (DFO) of Chandel.
A release jointly issued by Unique Business Association Chandel president Ng Andeson and Sulam Business Association, Chandel president Alvish Sankhil appealed for the transfer of the present DFO of Chandel. It appealed to the authorities concerned to replace the present DFO with a local officer “who can better understand the queries of the local people.”
The local people who are mostly illiterate and extremely poor are facing language barrier and miscommunication between the general public, it alleged. “The people of Chandel need an officer who can understand their queries and tend to their needs,” it read.
It accused the present DFO for not being able to build a productive working atmosphere in Chandel district. It also alleged that when people requested saplings for plantations, the DFO refused to issue the same despite large number of saplings being present in the nursery of the DFO office.
