The Joint Action Coordination Committee, Lairik Yengbam Leikai, on Sunday organised a special discussion on the present issue of Manipur at Lairik Yengbam Leikai community hall, Imphal.
The programme was held under the initiative of the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO), a release stated.
Social Activist Ashang Kasar and vice-president AMMPACO, Lukma were the resource persons at the special discussion, the release by AMUCO stated.
Chairman of Joint Action Coordination Committee, Ch Hemchand; AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang; president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, L Memchoubi, president of all Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Y Kunjarani; president of Young Progressive Union, Sagolsem Joykumar and NIUCAMO president, Ch Okendro were among those present at the event, it mentioned.
The event highlighted the need for the people to come together and discuss necessary measures pertaining to the prevailing situation in the state, it said. It further lamented over the spread of divisive statements amid such a critical juncture, which might split apart the unity of the people and appealed to be aware of the same.
AMUCO also reiterated its stand for unity, progress and prosperity and asserted that the committee will always work in the interest of the people, it stated. It further urged the public to extend their support and cooperation towards its initiatives.
