AMCO prays for peace in Manipur

AMCO calls for all the leaders irrespective of denominations to stand together in prayer for peace and reconciliation.

The All Manipur Christian Organization (AMCO), the apex Christian organization in Manipur on Sunday held a “prayer and fasting service”, at the Rongmei Baptist Churches Council Centre Church, Tarung, Imphal.

AMCO in a press release stated that the leaders present in the service reflected on the ongoing social unrest drawing insights from various perspectives. The congregation prayed for various intentions: loss of livelihood, casualties amongst the Meiteis and Kuki communities, attack on churches, mission schools and persecution against Christian minorities, displaced people taking shelter in relief camps, freedom of worship for Meitei Christians, law and order situation, it added.

It also mentioned that the congregation raised prayers for an amicable solution through peaceful dialogue with conflicting communities.

AMCO calls for all the leaders irrespective of denominations to stand together in prayer for peace and reconciliation. The leaders of the gathering also stressed on the need of peacemakers in the society to work together to foster normalcy in the state.

The meeting was attended by priests, pastors and church leaders of all denominations.
