Pradhan Kiyamgei Muslim Arapti Gram Panchayat, Md Saphauddin on Wednesday refuted the allegations of the Gram Panchayat misusing MGNREGA funds as baseless, and claimed that the Indigenous Manipuri Muslim Development Organisation is a fake organisation that is trying to defame him.
Saphauddin was speaking to the media at Panchayat Ghar, Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai, Imphal on Wednesday. He alleged that the fake organisation is not only trying to defame him but also misleading the people in connection with the development works carried under the jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat.
On social media, the said fake CSO circulated a post that in the name of digging a community pond at Kiyamgei Muslim Arapti Gram Panchayat, ward number II, Zilla Parisad member of the gram panchayat has misused huge amount of funds issued under MGNREGA, Saphauddin said. He further clarified that no such community was dug in the said area.
He appealed to the authorities concerned to find out the truth behind “such fake CSOs” and take necessary action for their trying to mislead the people.
