Social activist RK Sanayaima alias Meghen on Saturday called upon all to collectively strive towards preserving the unity and integrity of Manipur and added that the collective concept of Manipur would perish if Meiteis failed to rise to the occasion.

Speaking to the media during his visit to various locations in Moirang, Meghen maintained that it is time for all Meitei women to march forward and take the baton in this tense situation.

“We should help our brethren in need and take a collective stand against those who have disturbed the unity and integrity of our motherland,” he said.

He highlighted that collective resilience and courage is the primary weapon to fight off unwanted intruders.

He also lambasted the state government for its lack of accountability in protecting the lives of innocent people and their property.

Zeal and support of the state government is the need of the hour, he added.

He stated that the whole conflict was a well-thought-out plan of few vested individuals to create enmity among communities for their own selfish agendas.

“The use of militants to mark territory and demand for a separate administration is not something which you dream overnight; it has been plotted and executed according to the whims of vested individuals,” he said.

He mentioned that the history of Manipur has been distorted and moulded to benefit the narrative of their demands.

He reiterated the need for people to unify and land a fatal strike against such derogatory demands.

“The state government is paralysed; therefore, the people must fight not against a particular community but against the armed militants who are attacking people for unjustified demands,” he said.

He further appealed to all communities of Manipur to exhort affable relations among communities and strive collectively in safeguarding Manipur’s territorial integrity.
