After the murder of Pumzalal Ngaihte whose body was found near Khuga Dam in Churachandpur on December 8, the accused person Nehkhohau, who remained at large, was arrested by Singngat police, Churachandpur on Thursday.
He was arrested by a team led by the investigating officer SI Hao of Singngat Police Station and OC inspector Rommel Gangte under the guidance of additional SP (law and order, and operations) Lorence Munlou and overall supervision of SP Churachandpur Srivanan Surve, as per a release.

Pumzalal Ngaihte, son of S Ginlian of Khominthang, New Lamka, Churachandpur was said to be missing from a hut located in a forest where he and his partner, the accused Nehkhohau, 28, son of ( L) Laltinkhum of Valpakot village, Churachandpur were stationed for cutting wood.
In connection with the case, the Singngat police station had registered an FIR on December 8. The prime accused Nehkhohau was absconding and after the issuance of a Wanted order by the police with a price tag of Rs 20,000 and intense surveillance was undertaken until the accused was arrested from the outskirts of Churachandpur at around 10:30 am on Thursday, it stated.
As the effort to nab the accused was spearheaded by the police, particularly the investigating officer SI Hao of Singngat, the rewards for the arrest will go to Singngat Police Station, it added. The police thanked CSOs of Churachandpur for their cooperation and help in searching the body at khuga reservoir for more than three days, it added.
