A person who was abducted by unknown miscreants was found dead at Thoubal district hospital while another person abducted with him is undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity; both had several signs of severe physical abuse marks on their body.
Sources said that they were abducted at gunpoint by some unknown miscreants who came on a four wheeler vehicle at around 5 pm on Tuesday from Lilong Awang leikai area and news of the dead and the injured was received by the family members on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Md. Jahir Khan @ Atomba, 23, son of Md Nasimuddin of Keibung Mathak Leikai under the jurisdiction of Thoubal PS, Thoubal district and the injured person is Md. Farid Khan @ Boycha, 20, son of Md Hafijuddin of Keibung mathak Leikai.
A joint action committee has been formed following the unwanted incident which demanded the state government to bring out the culprits within 48 hours. The JAC also warned of various intense agitations if the authorities concerned failed to fulfill their demands.
Convener Md Sahid Khan of the newly formed JAC against the brutal killing of Md Jahir Khan said that the two victims left home at around 5 pm on Tuesday for work at Lilong Awang Leikai and they were abducted at the said time at gunpoint.
Unknown miscreants called the family members of the two victims and came to an agreement to have a meeting on Wednesday morning. However, news of Jahir Khan’s death and Farid Khan’s injury reached the family members on Wednesday at around 3 am.
