It may be mentioned that the construction workers have returned to India since the atmosphere was not conducive for execution of work anymore due to the political unrest and incidents of violence following the February 1 military coup in Myanmar.

A labourer engaged in the project was attacked with a knife by unidentified persons on July 17. He succumbed to his injuries. Another labourer engaged in the same project was allegedly arrested by unidentified armed personnel in a case of mistaken identity. He has reportedly failed to return till date.
