The 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) on Thursday celebrated its 25th Raising Day at its battalion at Naresena in Bishnupur district.
Hoisting of the battalion flag by its CO T Lalboi Haokip followed by inspecting the guard of honour at the parade ground marked the opening ceremony of the celebration.
Acknowledging the good service of the nine personnel posted at the battalion, a certificate of appreciation was also conferred to those nine personnel which include havildars and riflemen.
T Lalboy Haokip stressed the need of maintaining good and healthy relations between the officers, seniors and riflemen.
He maintained that all personnel need to abide by their ethics and discipline while discharging their duties as well as during off duty.
Meanwhile, the officers should never use his junior officers for his or her private works, he added.
The commandant also extended gratitude to all the personnel of the battalion for their immense service towards the society, abiding to the norms and protocols of being an IRB personnel in the last many years.
Deputy commandant of the battalion P Kirankumar said IRB has been giving its relentless service to the nation since its inception by involving in various security activities from time to time such as during elections, VIP escorts, mob confrontation and others.
As a part of the observance, aids and food items were also donated to few children homes and old-age homes located in the Bishnupur districts besides conducting a tree sapling plantation programme at the campus of the battalion.
