A total of 270 civilian houses were burned down on Tuesday midnight at various villages under Thoubal Dam police station of Imphal East district, sources said.
According to police reports, miscreants burned down five houses in Itham Moirang Purel; 50 houses in Laikhong; 60 houses in S Bongyang; 50 houses in Seichang; 20 houses in Molnom; 20 houses in Chaningpokpi; 20 houses in Molkonbung and 15 houses in Beulahland.
IFP Kangpokpi correspondent adds: More than 10 villages belonging to the Kuki community were attacked and burned down on Wednesday.
S Bongjang, Saichang, L Songphel, Kamu Saichang, Nongdam Kuki, Maphou Kuki, Molnom, Molkon, Chaningpokpi, and Beulahland villages under the Island SubDivision in Kangpokpi District were reportedly attacked and burned down on Tuesday.
