The 23rd Meira Paibi Numit was observed at Tharo Devi Lampak, Khurai Salanthong by the Meira Paibi Numit Observation Committee on Friday.
Since 1999, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur, AMAWOVA and MEPWAK had been organising the day every year, the observation committee stated in a release signed by convenor Longjam Memchoubi.
Due to the pandemic, the observance was held in a simple function by following the Covid appropriate behaviours and giving floral tribute to the memorial statue of Meira Paibi at the function venue, the observation committee stated.
The observation committee also donated three D-Type oxygen cylinders to the chief minister, extending their support to help in combating the second wave of the COVID pandemic, it added.
