As many as 230 old age people and widows of Moirang Khunou GP and Kha Thinungei GP under Thanga on Thursday received their pensions under the Manipur Old Age Pension (MOAP) and Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme (CMWPS), which was pending for 10 months.
Each of the beneficiaries of the old age pension received a sum of Rs 2,000 while the beneficiaries of the widow pension received a sum of Rs 5,000 each through DBT.
The beneficiaries received the pensions during the “Distribution of Pension Card of MOAP and CMWPS” under the Go to Village 1.0 and 2.0 of Thanga AC held at Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district. It was organised by the District Social Welfare Office, Bishnupur.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Robindro clarified that differences of name, date of birth and address in the documents (Aadhaar card, bank account) of the beneficiaries delayed the pension process.
The MLA explained that the issuing authority has dealt with such issues by correcting the details and verifying it.
Assuring that all the eligible persons, including those who were left out though they had applied for the pension scheme, will get the benefits sooner or later through their respective ward members, he said, “No one will be left behind in the implementation of every developmental or welfare activities”.
