A ‘Kat-thokpa Numit’ as part of the observation of the first Laishram Anand Yaima Meitei memorial was organised by Anand Yaima Foundation Trust Heirok at the community hall of Ngarouthel at Heirok Part III, Thoubal on Saturday.
The programme was attended by Committee on Civil Societies Kangleipak (CSSK) president Jeetendra Ningombam, Human Rights Defender Manipur (HRDM) chairman Joy Chingakham, Anand Yaima Foundation Trust Heirok working president Laishram Shamanda and president Moirangthem Totomsana as the presidium members along with the poets of Ningol Khut Manipur Wangjing, students and the local club representatives.
The programme commenced with a floral tribute to the late Laishram Anand Yaima, followed by a poem recitation ceremony. As part of the occasion, gift items were presented to the differently-abled persons and the poor sections of society.
The speakers of the programme recalled the various contribution of late Anand Yaima for the wellbeing of the downtrodden section and for the development of society as well.
