The 19th Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei is all set to begin from December 20 and all interested Shumang Leela groups can submit their script, casting synopsis and identification card from December 3-15.
Addressing the media on Friday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen, life time secretary of Manipur State Shumang Leela Council (MSSLC), Hemanta Sougrakpam said that MSSLC is all set to organise its 19th edition of Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei from December 20. Like the previous norm, one director and one writer can present only one Shumang Leela. Besides this, artists are not allowed to take part from other Shumang Leela groups which they don’t belong to, he said.
In the post-show talk that will be conducted after the presentation of Shumang Leela, all the artists, directors and writers should take part compulsorily, he added.
He further informed that every Shumang Leela group can start submitting script, casting synopsis and identification cards to Shumang State Shumang Leela Council from tomorrow onwards. Those Shumang Leela which are already presented either in festivals conducted by State Kala Akademy or MSSLC are not eligible to play in the upcoming Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei, he said.
He appealed to all people of the state to come and enjoy the said festival as without an audience, every festival is incomplete.
The press meet was also attended by chairman of the 19th Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei, L Tarpon, vice president of MSSLC, L Tomba, general secretary of MSSLC, Yumnam Nilachandra and media coordinator of MSSLC, Ranjit Ningthouja.
