A total of 163 oxygen concentrators of 10 litres donated by Give Foundation India were handed over to chief medical officers of eight districts in a programme jointly organised by the Action Aid Association of India (AAAI) and the Peoples Resource Development Association (PRDA) Bishnupur at its conference hall on Saturday.
The oxygen concentrators were donated for distribution to Churachandpur, Chandel, Kakching, Tamenglong, Noney, Thoubal, Ukhrul and Bishnupur districts, stated a release. It stated that the occasion was attended by Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan, mission director National Health Mission Manipur Dr N Shyamjai, secretary PRDA L Suranjoy as guests of honour.
Chief medical officers of eight districts received the 10 litre oxygen concentrators to be used for treatment of Covid patients, the release added.
Speaking at the occasion, MP Dr RK Ranjan lauded the kind gesture of Action Aid Association, PRDA and Give India. Emphasising that the prevention of Covid does not lie in the hands of doctors and nurses alone, the MP said that merely treating the infected persons will not be enough. Cooperation, understanding and cooperation from the public are required to defeat the pandemic, he added.
