The 15th Annual Art and Photography Exhibition organised Arts Society Manipur kicked off at Manipur State Art Gallery, Imphal on Wednesday.
The exhibition will be held for four days from 20-23 March, 2024.
Speaking on the occasion, secretary of Arts Society Manipur M Maningou stressed the need to promote budding artists in Manipur by organising such events.
He stated that artists with best artworks during the exhibition would be given cash prizes.
He further stated that regular exhibition of artworks would aid in upgrading the level of artistry in Manipur.
He also pointed out the need for the government to take interest in the area and promote the sector.
Altogether 50 artworks by 34 different artists are showcased in the exhibition and will be open from 11 am to 4pm for public viewing.
Manipur State Kala Akademi secretary Sunanda Thokchom, retired lecturer of Imphal Art College S Joychandra Sharma and Arts Society Manipur president Th Debendra among others were present at the event.
