15 more file nomination in Thoubal, Kakching districts

With six assembly constituencies from Thoubal district and four from Kakching district, a total of 22 assembly constituencies will go to polls in the second phase of the 12th Manipur general assembly election.

As many as 15 more candidates from Thoubal district and Kakching district including former chief minister O Ibobi on Wednesday submitted their nomination for the ensuing 2nd phase of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election to be held on March 3.

On the sixth day of nomination filing for the upcoming assembly election, former chief minister O Ibobi and 14 other candidates from Thoubal district and Kakching district had submitted their nomination file to their respective returning officers. With six assembly constituencies from Thoubal district and four from Kakching district, a total of 22 assembly constituencies will go to polls in the second phase of the 12th Manipur general assembly election.

Candidates of Lilong assembly constituency of Thoubal district, Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Sayed Anwar Hussain and BJP candidate MLA Y Antas Khan have submitted their nominations to the returning officer Angom Shijalembi Chanu.

Candidates of Thoubal assembly constituency, INC candidate former CM O Ibobi, BJP candidate Leitanthem Bhim and Janata Dal (United) candidate Irom Chaoba also submitted their nomination to returning officer Takhellambam Milikan Singh.

No candidate from Wangkhem assembly constituency, Heirok assembly constituency and Lilong also submitted their nomination today.

BJP candidate MLA Paonam Brojen of Wangjing-Tentha assembly constituency submitted his nomination to returning officer Ksh Umananda Singh.

Candidates of Khangabok assembly constituency, INC candidate MLA Okram Surjakumar, BJP candidate Khundrakpam Menjor Mangang and JD-U candidate Thokchom Jadumani submitted their nomination to returning officer Mayengbam Ranjeeta Devi.

JD- U candidate Md Sikander Ali of Wabagai assembly constituency of Kakching district and candidates of Kakching assembly constituency, CPI candidate Kshetrimayum Kenedy, NCP candidate Yengkhom Nilachandra and NPP candidate MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwor submitted their nomination to returning officer Kherdananda P.

BJP candidate Mayanglambam Binod of Sugunu assembly constituency submitted his nomination to returning officer M Kapajit.

33 candidates from Thoubal district and Kakching district, including 15 from today, have submitted their nomination file till now.

The last day for the filing of nomination is February 11 while the scrutiny of the candidates will be held on February 14 and the last day of withdrawal of nomination is February 16.
