Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to sportspersons across India on National Sports Day 2022 - August 29. Modi Prime Minister also paid tributes to legendary Indian Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary.
"Greetings on National Sports Day and tributes to Major Dhyan Chand Ji on his birth anniversary. The recent years have been great for sports. May this trend continue. May sports keep gaining popularity across India," PM Modi tweeted.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh also joined the nation in celebrating the National Sports Day 2022 and extended best wishes to all Indian sportspersons and paid tributes to Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
"On this #NationalSportsDay2022 and birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, my humble tributes to the legend of Hockey the country has ever had. My best wishes to all the sportspersons who have been working relentlessly to bring glory for the Nation," CM Biren tweeted Monday morning.
National Sports Day is observedd in India every year on August 29, in celebration of the birth anniversary of legendary Indian Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
