Earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Delhi on Friday evening. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) an earthquake of 4.7 magnitude on Richter scale hit 60 km southwest (SW) of Gurugram in Haryana. However, no reports of property damage or casualties have been reported so far.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the earthquake occurred at 7 pm. The depth of the quake was 35 km from the surface while the coordinates of the epicentre are 28.00 (latitude) and 76.69 (longitude)..
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and said, "Hope you are all safe."
"Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi some time ago. Hope you are all safe, take care of yourself," Kejriwal tweeted.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 on Richter scale also hit Mizoram's Champhai on Friday evening. National Centre for Seismology said the earthquake occurred at 2:35 pm. The depth of the quake was 25 km while the coordinates of the epicentre are 23.02 (latitude) and 93.53 (longitude), the NCS said.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6, Occurred on 03-07-2020, 14:35:41 IST, Lat: 23.02 & Long: 93.53, Depth: 25 Km ,Location: 52km SSE of Champhai, Mizoram," the National Centre for Seismology tweeted.
