Dental surgeon Dr Supriya Thiyam on Sunday expressed that oral hygiene is one of the most important factors for living a healthy life, while raising concern that most people neglect oral hygiene due to lack of awareness.
She was speaking on the sidelines of the one-day free dental camp organised by ‘MB Oral Clinique’ in association with Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha, Imphal at Meisnam Mandop, Singjamei Chingamakha, Imphal West.
To raise awareness on the importance of oral hygiene, the one-day free medical camp is being organised, she added.
One of the most common factors for bad oral hygiene is use of tobacco and its products. Irregular and improper brushing of teeth habits are other factors, she mentioned. Each individual needs to go for an oral medical check up at least twice a year, she added.
During the camp over 100 people came for a check up and received diagnosis on oral hygiene on prosthodontics, general service, cosmetic dentistry and others.
