Breast cancer awareness was observed on Monday at KGBV Ekou Mulam in Saikul Kangpokpi.
The event was organised by NCD Cell under NHM, DHS Kangpokpi.
Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, Chief Medical Officer/DMD Kangpokpi, and Christina, Principal of KGBV Ekou Mulam attended as dignitaries.
Dr A Pfuzia, DNO NCD Cell, Kangpokpi, delivered the welcome address, and Dr Reenota Salam, Gynaecologist, District Hospital, Kangpokpi, delivered the keynote address while the function was moderated by H Rishikesh Sharma, DPM Kangpokpi.
Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, CMO/DMD Kangpokpi and Christina, Principal KGBV Ekou Mulam stressed on breast cancer, which is the most common among women and its importance in early detection, signs, and symptoms and how to self-examine every month while they also highlighted the importance of dissemination of information to near and dear ones back home.
The programme ended with a vote thanks by H Holminlun Khongsai, Epidemiologist, NCD Cell, Kangpokpi.
