Louroi Festival 2023 started on Saturday at Khurai Nandeibam Leikai, SSC Ground with much fanfare, cultural shows and exciting display of traditional tools and equipment used in agricultural activities by the forefathers of Manipur.
As a part of the festival, a bull healthy contest “Sangari Thounaduna San Laba Pabot Phajaba Tannaba” was held on Sunday morning at the festival venue.
Delivering the keynote address of the inaugural function, convenor of the Louroi Festival Organising Committee, Longjam Lokendro highlighted the traditional method of farming practiced by the forefathers and the punctuality they maintained.
He said that the main objective of the festival is to preserve the traditional practice of farming besides encouraging the farming community.
The programme was also attended by Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha as chief guest and was presided over by chairman of the organising committee Padmashri L Nabakishore.
