Yohenba creates history in modelling

Fourteen-year-old Yohenba has become the first Manipuri boy to ever win an international modelling contest for India.

Fourteen-year-old Yohenba has become the first Manipuri boy to ever win an international modelling contest for India.

Yohenba won “I am Model Search International” in PreTeen Category which is an international fashion modelling contest, the spectacular and grand ceremony of which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from January 10 to 13, 2024.

Organised by Double Event Management, a renowned modelling agency in Malaysia, it is open for modelling aspirants that saw a strong participation of 20 nations and with 70 contestants gathered from across the world.

Yohenba, son of Gopeshwar Singh of Imphal, swept the audiences and judges alike the day he stepped in the competition; he also bagged important subtitles such as Best in Catwalk, Photogenic and Best in Avant Garde awards, making him the youngest boy from Manipur to be honored in the industry.

Global Model India is the National Franchisee of this international contest for India which is headed by Amar Shamu Sonawane.

Rakesh Singh Nongmaithem was the official mentor for Yohenba.
