Tadubi MLA N Kayisii elected Manipur NPP legislative leader

Kayisii won the Tadubi seat with 21,601 votes against Naga People's Front M Francis Ngajokpa, who received 21,052 votes.

The National People’s Party (NPP), Manipur on Friday unanimously elected Tadubi MLA N Kayisii as NPP's legislative leader of Manipur.

"May he take the party forward to serve the people of Manipur," NPP national president Conrad K Sangma tweeted.

The NPP fielded 38 total candidates in the 12th Manipur Assembly Election. The party won seven seats.

Fifty-one-year-old Kayisii won the Tadubi seat under Senapati district with 21,601 votes against 21,052 votes of M Francis Ngajokpa of the Naga People's Front.

Meanwhile, winning independent candidates Haokholet Kipgen of Saitu AC and Sapam Nishikant Singh of Keishamthong AC on Friday pledged to support the BJP, Manipur.

Letters of support were submitted to Manipur Governor La Ganesan and to BJP Manipur president A Sharda Devi by the two winning independent candidates.

Altogether, three independent candidates won three of the 60 seats in the elections 2022. The other independent candidate is J Kumo Sha of Karong AC.
