Student body inspects school

Oinam Government High School found with no regular headmaster, being looked after by a headmistress in-charge.

A team of Federal Student’s Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) inspected Oinam Government High School under Bishnupur district on Thursday, and reportedly found the school facing many shortages.

The school has no regular headmaster provided by the government and it is being looked after by a headmistress in-charge, stated a release. There are 14 teachers of which 3 were appointed on a contract basis, while one got utilised to another school, it said. Many students are from children homes and relief camps, it mentioned.

The school has been facing issues as the funds for maintenance and grants are not disbursed regularly, it stated.

There were shortages of infrastructure and the school has no teachers for Manipuri and Chemistry subjects etc, it further said. FESOK appeals to the relevant authority to look after these shortages and provide the necessary requirements, it added.
