The student bodies had been appealing to the authorities concerned to take up necessary action regarding the alleged lack of proper authorities of the DMU, including a regular registrar, finance officer, and examination controllers, it maintained.

It also mentioned that the students’ organisations had been meeting with the authorities concerned to complete the pending bifurcation process of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university.

It continued that the DMU with around 22 departments had not been able to provide scholarships to the students as the university is not a 12B status university.

“It is quite unfortunate that the tension between the university authorities and the teaching staff had affected the classes of the postgraduate students,” it read.
