St Joseph’s School, Chandel organises career talk

Career talk on ‘Ways to get into the Armed Forces’ was held at St Joseph’s School, Chandel.

St Joseph’s School, Chandel on Tuesday observed the 8th International Yoga Day and along with it held a career talk on ‘Ways to get into the Armed Forces’ at its school premises.

Resource persons, Major Mano Vijay of 21 Assam Rifles and Wing Commander Amarjeet Singh of the Indian Air Force enthused the faculty and students with their vivid experiences of being in the armed forces and how to crack NDA/CDA and to face SSB interviews once in a lifetime. Both the resource persons emphasized on having a focused vision on careers.

Major Vijay also spoke on the ill effects of drug abuse, to avoid getting addicted to it and encouraged the students to tell others who are using it to stop. The Major also spoke on the positive impacts of Yoga and how it helps one mentally and physically.

Wing Commander Amarjeet made the students understand how sophisticated fighter planes are, adding that building relationships, average intelligence, courage, mental and physical fitness and determination are key ingredients to become an officer. North east people have a 40 per cent chance of becoming officers, he added.

The programme opened with an introductory note from Alfred Thumlhti Monsang, Headmaster of the school. It was followed by very vibrant and talented students taking the stage with their mellifluous voices and dances. Special mention would be of the tiny tots who mesmerized the audience with their choreography.
