After the opening of schools for classes I to VIII, all schools for classes IX to XII in the state will resume from August 10 (Thursday) onwards.
All Zonal Education Officers under the Department of Education-Schools, Manipur are hereby directed to inform all concerned and take up necessary actions accordingly, L Nandakumar Singh, Director of Education(S), Manipur said in an order.
Stating that there are 1,229 schools in Manipur having classes IX to XII run by different managements, the director said that the above order for resumption of schools will not be applicable to the 28 schools which are currently involved in relief measures etc., as given.
They are St. Joseph’s Hr. Sec. School, Nilapadama Hr. Sec. School and Govt. Hindi Sec. School (Kanglatongbi) of Zone I-Imphal West; Khumbi High School, Saiton High School, KGBV Thamnapokpi, NSBAV Residential (Laingoubi) and Bishnupur Hr. Sec. School of Zone-IV – Bishnupur; Netaji High School, Borobekra Hr. Sec. School and Chhotobekra High School of Jiribam; Serou Practical High School and Sugnu Hr. Sec. School of Kakching; Wangkhei High School, Moirangpurel High School, Lamlong Hr. Sec. School and C.C. Hr. Sec. School of Zone II – Imphal East; Y. Thingkhangphai High School of Chandel; Mongkot Chepu High School of Ukhrul; Lanva HS, Tuibong HS, NKT HS, Valte Khamzathang HS and Tuining HS of Churachandpur and Henbung HS, Keithelmanbi HS and Kamuching HS of Kangpokpi.
Separate order for resumption of these schools will be issued later and adequate compensatory measures will be taken up for the students of these schools so as to prevent any learning loss, the Director of Education(S) stated.
