As school and college authorities are left confused over opening of classes amid the continuing unrest, the Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) on Sunday condemned the alleged passivity of the education department. The KSA appealed to the authorities concerned to devise suitable directives for the admission, fee structures and the confusions regarding the opening of schools.
A release issued by KSA general secretary Th Johnson stated that although the state has announced that the schools will be opened and the academic session will begin on July 1, many school campuses are still accommodating the paramilitary forces and some are housing the displaced victims by setting up relief camps. “Will the paramilitary forces or the displaced victims be moved or will the classes be conducted elsewhere?” it questioned.
It mentioned that some schools in the volatile periphery regions will not be able to function properly with the unpredictable nature of the present conflict. It appealed for the deployment of proper security forces in such school areas.
With no directives from the education department regarding the admission of higher secondary schools and colleges, many school and college authorities are left confused. It condemned the alleged passivity of the education department regarding the existing confusions.
KSA also appealed to the state government to promptly devise suitable directives for the proper functioning of such schools and to set an apt fee structure for the displaced students as well.
