Orphans from across country can study free of cost at Andro school: Th Shyamkumar

For orphan students, they can get education from residential school, Moirangpurel with free of cost, MLA Th Shyamkumar said.

MLA Th Shyamkumar on Saturday said that orphans from across the country are welcome to study at Model Residential School, Moirangpurel, Imphal East; Moirangpurel Panam Higher Secondary School and Moirangpurel High School at free of cost.

He was speaking during a visit at the three schools located at Andro assembly constituency, Imphal East on Saturday.

He said any orphan, not only from the state but also from across the country with the permission of the Central government, can get admission in the three schools at free of cost. For orphan students, they can get education from residential school, Moirangpurel with free of cost, he said.

The present government and the concerned minister have been taking various initiatives for quality education. As an elected representative, he took the initiative with the aim to reduce drop-out students as well as to bring quality education, said Shyamkumar.

He said there will be adequate place for different co-curricular activities for the students studying in the three schools and assured that there will be an international level status in the three schools of Andro. Development in education, sports and arts and culture is much needed to bring a developed society, he added.

He further said the students will be given the facility to learn vocational subjects so that they can also earn during the time of studies.

Later, representatives from six different student bodies came and conducted a tree plantation programme at Moirangpurel Panam Higher Secondary School, Moirangpurel, Imphal East.
