Navodaya Vidyalaya Employees Welfare Association (NVEWA) on Thursday appealed to the authority concerned to take up necessary provision for resumption of all Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools residing in Manipur.
NVEWA in a press release stated that all schools and colleges were shut since April 20 last year as a measure to contain COVID-19 pandemic. However, in between the state government had allowed reopening of schools in the month of November with the improvement of COVID-19 condition. But all the 11 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) of Manipur remained closed till date and this has affected around 7000 students.
It further said when the state government lifted restrictions to conducting physical classes from Class IX and above, they had left out for the residential school, JNV. Both NVEWA and parents had urged the authority concerned several times to consider about them. Unfortunately, they didn’t care about it and remained focus only in election related works, it said.
The Supreme Court of India had ordered to conduct all exams of Central Board Secondary education in offline mode. Along with this Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has also advised to resume physical classes in all the JNVs. Adhering to the order, JNV of other states had started normal classes, it added.
It said that the condition of COVID-19 has improved tremendously. All the students of JNV are already vaccinated with the support of JNV authority. As such, there is no risk to open school under certain SoP.
The board exam for Class X and Class XII are approaching. It is high time for state government to reconsider the call for resumption of physical classes in all the JNV of the state, it appealed.
